My life on the balancing work, life, family, and myself on the mom list

I have loved being a mom but it is come with some struggles. How to manage needing to work outside the home and needing to be home with my son. And how to find time for myself. I am sure many other moms have figured out this but being a new mom I am just figuring this out myself. I have been struggling to figure out how to keep a house clean and get exercise. I have a treadmill and a elliptical and I have not touched them since I had my son. One morning hit me. I could walk with my son in a stroller. I had been just sitting outside and enjoying the weather in the morning with him before I go to work. Now I strap him in, slide on some sneakers, and hit the pavement. It is not what I would prefer to do but at least I am trying to get some exercise in. So I am getting to be with my son which I love and squeeze in some exercise. It is the best I can ask for to be blessed with my beautiful son. Now if I could stick with it to lose my weight that I have stressed eat to gain!!!

Quivira Park July 19, 2009

With being budget conscience, I try to find things to do with my son without spending a lot of money. I found lists of parks in Johnson County, KS but have not visited them all so I thought I would visit them and blog about it.

Today ,I went to Quivira Park at 11901 Quivira Rd in Overland Park, KS. It was a good park. There was a large shelter along with a grill. There were 2 sand volleyball courts. The walking trail goes by there. The play area was nice. The equipment was plastic so it did not get too hot. There was one baby swing and 2 regular swings. There were 3 slides. The playground area had wood chips around the play gym. Not a huge park but being my first park to visit I would say it was good.
